“Shubman Gill’s Batting is Pure Class” – Shikhar Dhawan Praises India’s Young Stars

Veteran Opener Lauds Gill’s Elegance, Rohit’s Mentorship, and Harshit Rana’s Hunger for Success

New Delhi, February 28: Shikhar Dhawan has showered praise on Shubman Gill, hailing the young opener’s class, elegance, and consistency, while also highlighting Rohit Sharma’s crucial role in mentoring India’s next generation. The veteran batter also weighed in on Harshit Rana’s opportunity in the absence of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

“I simply love Shubman Gill’s batting. It’s very classy, and there’s elegance in his shots. And most importantly, he’s consistent. It’s great to see the level of professionalism he brings to the game,” Dhawan said on Star Sports.

Gill’s Rise: The Future of Indian Cricket

Gill has been in red-hot form, smashing an unbeaten 101 against Bangladesh in India’s Champions Trophy opener. Dhawan believes that Gill, along with other young players, is stepping up and delivering with remarkable consistency.

“The young boys know their roles well and are scoring consistently. Gill has a great present and an even brighter future for India.”

Rohit Sharma: The Mentor Behind the Scenes

While Rohit Sharma’s leadership on the field is evident, Dhawan emphasized the impact of his guidance off the pitch, especially with the younger players.

“Rohit enjoys playing with youngsters and must be sharing his years of experience with them. His small but valuable conversations—patting them on the back, giving them tactical insights—go a long way in shaping their game,” Dhawan noted.

Harshit Rana’s Big Opportunity in Bumrah’s Absence

With Jasprit Bumrah unavailable, India has turned to young pacer Harshit Rana, and Dhawan believes this is a huge chance for him to showcase his talent.

“Bumrah is a massive name—a game-changer. His absence is definitely felt, but this is a golden opportunity for Harshit Rana. He has passion, aggression, and the ability to take wickets. He should learn from Rohit and Virat and make the most of this chance,” Dhawan said.

India’s Champions Trophy Hopes Look Strong

With Gill flourishing, Rohit guiding the squad, and young players stepping up, Dhawan remains optimistic about India’s chances in the ICC Champions Trophy. With momentum on their side, the Men in Blue look determined to reclaim the title.
