Snoop Dogg Responds to Backlash Over Performance at Trump’s Crypto Ball

The rapper faces criticism for performing at Trump’s inauguration event, responds with a message of love and resilience.

Washington [US], January 28: Snoop Dogg has found himself at the center of controversy following his performance at Donald Trump’s Crypto Ball ahead of the former president’s inauguration. The rapper, who has previously been vocal in his criticism of Trump, faced backlash from fans accusing him of hypocrisy.

In response to the uproar, Snoop Dogg addressed the criticism through a video posted on Instagram. Sitting in his car, he said, “For all the hate, I’m going to answer with love. Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool. I’m together. Still a Black man. Still 100% Black. All out ‘til you ball out or ‘til you fall out.”

Snoop’s Take on Handling Negativity

Snoop also spoke about dealing with backlash during his appearance on the R&B Money Podcast. He said, “You gon’ deal with hate when you get to the top, no matter who you are. Me, personally, I answer it with success and love. That’s my answer to any hate and negativity that comes my way, ’cause it’s the strongest force that can beat it.”

Backlash Over Past Statements

The rapper’s performance at the Crypto Ball, held in Washington, DC, on January 17, reignited discussions about his previous criticisms of Trump and his supporters. In a 2018 interview on DJ Suss One’s SiriusXM show, Snoop had labeled Trump supporters as racists, saying, “If you like that, you’re racist.” He had also criticized Kanye West for publicly supporting Trump.

Celebrity Attendance at Trump’s Events

While Snoop Dogg’s performance has drawn particular ire, he wasn’t the only celebrity to perform at Trump’s events. Other performers included Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Kid Rock, Nelly, and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Donald Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th president of the United States at the US Capitol, with Chief Justice John Roberts administering the oath.

Snoop’s response to the controversy suggests he intends to stay focused on his career and well-being, leaving critics to ponder the complex relationship between artists, politics, and personal beliefs.
