Sobhita Dhulipala Stuns as Showstopper for Rimzim Dadu at ICW 2024

The seventh day of India Couture Week 2024 was marked by glamour and sophistication, with actress Sobhita Dhulipala captivating the audience as the showstopper for designer Rimzim Dadu.

Held at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, the event showcased Dadu’s latest collection, ‘Stucco,’ which artfully blended historical opulence with modern elegance.

Dhulipala, renowned for her role in the series ‘Made in Heaven,’ dazzled in an elegant ivory ensemble that epitomized Dadu’s vision. Her off-shoulder bralette paired with a glittery fringe skirt extended to the floor, channeling the flamboyance of an ostrich. Completing her look with a classic wet hair style and dewy makeup, Dhulipala perfectly embodied the collection’s essence.

Dadu’s ‘Stucco’ collection paid homage to the grandeur of Baroque architecture, featuring her signature use of metallic cords and steel wires. The collection showcased deep hues of ruby red, antique gold, and burnt orange, highlighting the intricate interplay of light and shadow—a hallmark of both Baroque artistry and Dadu’s avant-garde aesthetic.

Reflecting on her style mantra, Dhulipala said, “I don’t know if I have a mantra, but I think it should be me in whatever I wear and should enjoy it.” She described her ostrich-inspired outfit as “modern, feminine, clean, minimal but strong and studied well,” emphasizing the collection’s sophisticated yet accessible design.

Pearl Academy played a crucial role in presenting Rimzim Dadu’s collection at this prestigious fashion event. The runway featured a variety of dramatic silhouettes, including corset tops, modern lehengas, sculptural sarees, and tuxedos for men, each piece reflecting meticulous craftsmanship and Baroque-inspired elegance.

Commenting on the evolution of Indian fashion, Dadu noted, “Indian fashion is really evolving; we are at a point where we are out there to experiment and are evolving.” Dhulipala echoed her excitement about walking for Rimzim Dadu, saying, “It was amazing; I wish I could do this every year, every day.”

India Couture Week 2024, which began on July 24, continues to be a grand showcase of fashion innovation. The event will conclude on July 31 with Falguni Shane Peacock’s grand finale presentation, bringing an end to a week of spectacular fashion showcases.
