Sohail Afridi Accuses Adiala Jail Officials of Violating Court Orders For Denying Access to Imran Khan

Amid rising family and party anxiety, a top aide claims the former Pakistan PM is ‘fit and fine,’ while Adiala Jail continues to deny meeting access.

November 28, 2025: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has launched a sharp public critique against Pakistan’s jail administration and federal authorities, alleging that officials at Adiala Jail have been openly violating court orders by not allowing any meeting with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan, since October 27.

Speaking outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Afridi criticized what he called a deliberate attempt to keep the former Prime Minister “isolated” and in an “unknown condition.” He stressed that no one—not his lawyers, doctors, party leaders, or even family members—had been granted access, stating plainly, “They Are Not Allowing Meetings Since 27 October.” The Chief Minister alleged that this situation represented a complete defiance of judicial authority and further claimed that the jail authorities “humiliated Imran Khan’s sisters.”

Afridi revealed that despite receiving assurances from authorities that only non-political discussions would take place, the jail administration still refused to grant permission for a meeting. Expressing disappointment, he noted that the Islamabad High Court Chief Justice was not meeting with them and the court was not providing any relief to the PTI. He appealed directly to the legal fraternity and judges to raise their voices for justice, referencing growing international media concern about Imran Khan’s health.

The KP Chief Minister also claimed that personal restrictions were being placed on him, including the blocking of his passport. He confirmed that PTI has filed a petition seeking immediate permission to meet the former Prime Minister and issued a stark warning that if the courts do not intervene, the party will be forced into street protests, as the current environment is “promoting hate behaviour.” The Chief Minister’s statements come amid mounting concerns from the PTI leadership regarding Imran Khan’s health and safety, although jail authorities continue to deny any allegations of mistreatment.
