“Our Starbase team is actively working to safe the test site and the immediate surrounding area,” SpaceX added. “There are no hazards to residents in surrounding communities.”
The Starship is SpaceX’s next-generation reusable launch vehicle designed to carry humans and cargo to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. While previous tests have seen both landings and explosions, each iteration contributes to refining the ambitious rocket’s design.
This incident occurred just days after SpaceX completed a successful booster recovery test, highlighting the high-risk, high-reward nature of space innovation.
