“Swift, Surgical, Assertive”: 70 Terrorists Eliminated in India’s Operation Sindoor Strikes

India launches 24 coordinated missile strikes on 9 terror-linked sites across Pakistan and PoK, targeting key Lashkar and Jaish commanders after Pahalgam massacre.

May 7, 2025: New Delhi – In a dramatic escalation following the Pahalgam terror attack, India has killed 70 terrorists and injured over 60 others through 24 precision missile strikes across nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), sources in the Indian government confirmed.

The operation — codenamed Operation Sindoor — was India’s most assertive and expansive counter-terror action in decades, targeting Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, and their command structures in a single, synchronized assault.

“This was not just retaliation. It was a declaration of strategic will — that India will not tolerate cross-border terrorism or state complicity,” a senior source said.

The missile strikes were carried out in:

  • Muzaffarabad
  • Kotli
  • Bahawalpur
  • Rawalakot
  • Chakswari
  • Bhimber
  • Neelum Valley
  • Jhelum
  • Chakwal

These areas were under surveillance for months and identified as logistics hubs, training grounds, and command centers for terror activities. The strikes destroyed key infrastructure, including communication nodes, training modules, and logistics depots, severely crippling operational capacity of terror networks.

Among the dead were mid- and high-level commanders, including trainers, bomb specialists, and field logistics officers, long believed to be operating with impunity inside Pakistan.

Precision & Planning: No Military Sites Hit

The government clarified that no Pakistani military installations were targeted. The mission was designed to avoid escalation while delivering maximum damage to terrorist infrastructure.

“The operation used satellite intelligence, UAV surveillance, and human assets to ensure surgical precision. Each strike was carefully coordinated and completed in under an hour,” a defence official said.

The use of SCALP missiles, Hammer bombs, and loitering munitions ensured deep penetration and exact targeting, even in urbanized zones. Real-time drone footage confirmed destruction at all locations.

India’s Statement on Civilian Casualties

While Pakistan claimed 9 civilians dead and 38 injured, Indian officials expressed regret over civilian casualties but maintained that all targets were vetted and known to house terror infrastructure. Officials blamed terror outfits for embedding themselves in civilian areas to deter strikes and manipulate global narratives.

Global Diplomacy and India’s Message

Despite international calls for restraint, Indian sources confirmed that major global powers were briefed beforehand and acknowledged India’s right to self-defence.

“Unlike past doctrines, this strike sent a clear message — India’s tolerance threshold is over,” said one official.

Operation Sindoor, a name personally chosen by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was described as a strategic and symbolic message in response to the brutal massacre of Indian civilians.
