Telangana HC disqualifies Gadwa BRS MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: The Telangana High Court on Thursday disqualified Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy for submitting a false affidavit in the 2018 Assembly elections and declared BJP National Vice President DK Aruna as the MLA of the Gadwal constituency as she was the runner-up in the election.

Reacting to the HC ruling a member of  BJP’s legal cell Ram Chander Rao said,” We welcome the Telangana High Court judgement setting aside Krishnamohan Reddy’s election from Gadwal and declaring DK Aruna as elected. This has happened because a petition was filed by DK Aruna that Krishna Mohan has suppressed the facts and information.”

The Telangana High Court also imposed a fine of Rs 2.5 lakh on Krishna Mohan Reddy and ordered him to pay an additional Rs 50,000 as a cost to the petitioner.
