Back-to-Back Match-Winning Performances From KL Rahul Anchor Delhi Capitals’ Fourth Straight Victory as He Reveals the Thinking Behind His Masterclass at Chinnaswamy
Bengaluru, April 11: KL Rahul is delivering when it matters most—and at a venue he calls home. The Delhi Capitals (DC) wicketkeeper-batter produced another clinical knock, scoring an unbeaten 93 off 53 balls to guide his team to a comfortable six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday.
With this win, Delhi not only secured their fourth consecutive victory in IPL 2025 but also moved to second place on the points table with eight points from four games.

Speaking after receiving his second consecutive Player of the Match award, Rahul explained how keeping wickets helped him assess pitch behavior and prepare his batting strategy accordingly.
“It was a slightly tricky wicket, but what helped me was being behind the stumps for 20 overs, watching how the wicket played,” he said. “The ball sat into the wicket but was consistent. I knew my shots, and once I got a good start, I assessed and built my innings from there.”
Rahul showed calm control as Delhi, chasing 164, stumbled early before crossing the 100-run mark in 14.1 overs. Alongside Tristan Stubbs, Rahul stitched an unbroken 111-run stand, with Delhi finishing the chase at 169/4 in 17.5 overs.
Known for his calculated approach, Rahul elaborated on how familiarity with Chinnaswamy’s dimensions gave him a tactical edge.
“I knew what my pockets were. If I wanted to hit a big six, I knew exactly where to go. Keeping gave me a feel for where others struggled or succeeded,” he added. “This is my ground, my home—I know it better than anyone else.”
Rahul also spoke about his minimalist yet adaptable preparation style:
“I don’t bat for hours and hours just to slog. I experiment in practice. Even if I get out, it tells me the areas I can target. That’s how it becomes second nature when I walk out to bat.”
His previous outing—a fluent 77 against Chennai Super Kings—and now this unbeaten 93* against RCB underline his growing influence this season.
With Delhi on a roll, Rahul’s timing—both on the field and in terms of form—couldn’t be better.
