Three New Enforced Disappearances Reported in Balochistan, Families Demand Answers
Balochistan [Pakistan]: In a fresh wave of alleged enforced disappearances, three individuals have reportedly been abducted by Pakistan’s security forces from different regions of Balochistan, according to local sources and The Balochistan Post.
In Pasni, located in Gwadar district, Sartaj was reportedly abducted again on May 6, 2025. Sartaj had earlier been detained alongside his brother Murad Bakhsh Saleh in 2015. While Sartaj was eventually released, his brother remains missing to this day. The family has now appealed for Sartaj’s safe return, highlighting that he is the sole caretaker of his elderly mother and his missing brother’s children. His mother has urged the Baloch community to raise their voice against these abductions.
In another case from Noshki, a 14-year-old schoolboy, Sharifullah, son of Tawus Khan and a sixth-grade student, was reportedly taken from his home in Qadirabad village at 3 a.m. on April 18. The abduction was allegedly carried out by uniformed personnel. Since then, his family has had no contact or updates on his whereabouts.
The third case involves Abdul Farooq, who was reportedly detained in Lais Dagari, Quetta, on April 13. His family claims that they have received no communication or explanation from authorities since his detention.
These three incidents add to the ongoing crisis of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where students, activists, and civilians frequently vanish without legal proceedings. Families continue to demand justice and transparency, calling on the government to act decisively.
Despite growing domestic and international condemnation, enforced disappearances remain a pervasive human rights concern in the region, reflecting deep-seated political and humanitarian issues in Balochistan.
