Top LeT Commander Abu Saifullah, Mastermind of RSS HQ Attack, Shot Dead in Pakistan

May 18, 2025: A key Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander, Razaullah Nizamani—also known by his alias Abu Saifullah Khalid—was shot dead on Sunday in Pakistan’s Sindh province. The terror operative, who was behind multiple attacks on Indian soil, including the 2006 attack on the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, was gunned down near his residence in Matli.
According to reports, Nizamani had stepped out on Sunday afternoon and was ambushed near the Phalkara Chowk area, not far from his home. Despite being under protection by the Pakistani authorities, including the army and ISI, he was advised to stay indoors after India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor—conducted in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. His death raises questions about internal rivalries or possible targeted elimination.
Who was Razaullah Nizamani, aka Abu Saifullah?
Razaullah Nizamani was one of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s most experienced commanders, having orchestrated multiple high-profile terror strikes in India:
- The 2006 attack on the RSS headquarters in Nagpur
- The 2005 IISc attack in Bengaluru
- The 2001 Rampur CRPF camp attack in Uttar Pradesh
Beyond these attacks, Nizamani was a key link in LeT’s Nepal module, involved in recruitment, funding, and the cross-border movement of operatives via the Indo-Nepal corridor. He reportedly operated under another alias, Vinod Kumar, and was married to a Nepali national.
He worked closely with LeT’s top leaders, including Azam Cheema and chief accountant Yaqoob. In recent years, his role had shifted more toward fundraising and logistical coordination for both Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jamat-ud-Dawa.
His killing comes amid heightened tensions and India’s renewed diplomatic and military campaign against cross-border terrorism in the wake of the Pahalgam massacre.
