Donald Trump on Monday claimed that Iran’s naval forces had been largely “obliterated” and issued a stern warning that any remaining vessels approaching a US-enforced maritime blockade would face immediate military action.

The statement came in a post shared on Truth Social, where the US President described Iran’s navy as severely weakened following recent military operations.

Trump Says Majority Of Iranian Naval Fleet Destroyed

In his message, Donald Trump claimed that Iran’s naval fleet had suffered massive losses, asserting that 158 ships had been destroyed during ongoing operations.

According to Trump, most of Iran’s major vessels were now “lying at the bottom of the sea,” suggesting that the country’s naval capabilities had been significantly diminished.

However, he acknowledged that some smaller vessels, described as “fast attack ships,” had not been targeted initially. Trump said these boats were not considered a major threat during earlier phases of the operation.

Warning Issued To Remaining Iranian Vessels

The US President issued a direct and forceful warning to any Iranian ships that may attempt to approach the maritime blockade.

He stated that any remaining vessels nearing the US-enforced blockade would be “immediately eliminated.”

The remarks underline escalating tensions at sea, as both sides continue to signal readiness for further military engagement.

Military Measures Linked To Anti-Drug Operations

In the same statement, Donald Trump linked the naval actions to broader maritime security efforts.

He said that the same naval systems previously used to counter drug trafficking at sea would now be deployed against Iranian vessels attempting to breach the blockade.

Trump also claimed that a majority of narcotics entering the United States through maritime routes had already been intercepted, suggesting that existing anti-drug infrastructure was playing a key role in the enforcement strategy.

Rising Maritime Tensions Raise Regional Concerns

Trump’s remarks come amid heightened military tensions involving Iran and the United States, with maritime security emerging as a critical point of focus.

Analysts warn that continued threats and naval escalation could further destabilise shipping routes and increase risks for vessels operating in sensitive waterways, especially in regions already impacted by geopolitical conflict.

The situation remains fluid, with global observers closely monitoring developments that could influence regional security and international trade.
