In a high-stakes diplomatic move, US President Donald Trump is set to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday morning (local time), as efforts to negotiate an end to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war intensify.

📌 Trump Calls for Immediate End to War
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump revealed that while many elements of a final peace agreement have been settled, key issues remain unresolved.

“Thousands of young soldiers, and others, are being killed. Each week brings 2,500 soldier deaths from both sides, and it must end NOW. I look very much forward to the call with President Putin,” Trump wrote.

Last Friday (March 14), Trump suggested there was a “very good chance” of ending the war after holding what he called productive discussions with Putin.
