Trump Revokes Security Clearances of Biden Officials, Says “Joe, You’re Fired”

In a sweeping move, President Trump revokes classified access for senior Biden officials, including Antony Blinken and Jake Sullivan, citing national security concerns.

Washington, DC [US], March 11: In a dramatic escalation of political tensions, US President Donald Trump has revoked the security clearances of several senior Biden administration officials, including former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, effectively barring them from accessing classified information.

The decision, announced by US Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard, was made at Trump’s direct order, further extending his administration’s clampdown on officials linked to Joe Biden’s tenure.

Others affected include:

  • Former US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco
  • Former US Ambassador to the Czech Republic Norman Eisen
  • New York Attorney General Letitia James
  • Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg
  • American Attorney Andrew Weissman
  • 51 signers of the Hunter Biden “disinformation” letter

Additionally, Biden himself will no longer receive the President’s Daily Brief (PDB), a courtesy typically extended to former presidents.

“Per @POTUS directive, I have revoked security clearances and barred access to classified information for Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, and Andrew Weissman, along with the 51 signers of the Hunter Biden ‘disinformation’ letter,” Gabbard posted on X.

Trump Fires Back: “Joe, You’re Fired!”

The move follows Trump’s earlier February 8 announcement, in which he revoked Joe Biden’s security clearances and halted his intelligence briefings.

“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking @JoeBiden’s Security Clearances and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” read a post from the White House’s official X handle.

On Truth Social, Trump justified his decision by citing Biden’s own precedent in 2021, when he denied Trump post-presidency access to intelligence, citing “erratic behavior” after January 6, 2021.

“The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information,” Trump posted, taking a dig at his political rival.

“I will always protect our National Security—JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Political Fallout and Precedent

Historically, former presidents do not automatically retain security clearances, and their access to intelligence briefings is granted at the discretion of the sitting president. In 2021, Biden revoked Trump’s access, citing national security concerns after the Capitol riot.

Trump’s move now comes exactly four years later, turning the tables on Biden and his former aides. With the 2024 election still fresh in public discourse, this action further highlights the deepening divide between the two administrations.
