"TV Bhi Nahi Tootenge": Ex-Pakistan Cricketer’s Savage Take on Pakistan’s Champions Trophy Fate
February 23, 2025: 🏏 Basit Ali’s Brutal Take on Pakistan’s Prospects Against India
As India and Pakistan prepare for their high-stakes clash in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has taken a dig at his country’s economy and cricket team, stating that even TV sets won’t be broken this time if Pakistan loses—because of rising inflation.

“Agar one-sided hota hai, toh ab TV bhi nahi tootenge kyunki Pakistan mei mehangai bahut zyada hai. Ab zabaan se hi har cheez hogi (If it’s a one-sided match, fans won’t break their TVs this time due to high inflation. They will just talk about it),” Basit said on his YouTube channel.
He called the match a ‘final’ for Pakistan, emphasizing that India are clear favorites. Pakistan, who suffered a 60-run loss to New Zealand in their opening game, are in a must-win situation to stay in contention for the semi-finals.
Basit also criticized Pakistan’s unsettled batting lineup, questioning who will bat at No. 3 after Fakhar Zaman’s injury.
“Who will bat at No. 3? Nobody knows. They might ask Usman Khan to open with Imam-ul-Haq and move Babar Azam to No. 3. But the top five batters are too similar in style—there’s no flexibility,” he remarked.
He compared Pakistan’s batting to a car stuck in third gear, predicting that their only hope is a late flourish in the last five to ten overs.

🏆 Basit’s Prediction for IND vs PAK 2025:
The eight-team Champions Trophy 2025 is being played across Pakistan and Dubai, marking Pakistan’s first time hosting an ICC event since 1996.
With their batting lineup struggling and team morale low, Pakistan faces an uphill battle. Will Mohammad Rizwan’s side pull off an unexpected upset, or will Rohit Sharma’s Team India march into the semi-finals?
