Ukraine Targets Electrical Equipment Factory in Russia’s Bryansk Region, Says Local Governor

May 4, 2025: Ukrainian forces have reportedly destroyed a major factory in Russia’s Bryansk region, according to a statement by local governor Alexander Bogomaz on Sunday.

The facility, located in the village of Suzemka near the Ukrainian and Belarusian borders, sustained extensive damage, with its workshops and administrative buildings “destroyed,” Bogomaz said via Telegram.

According to Mash, a Telegram channel with ties to Russia’s security services, the targeted factory manufactured electrical equipment, including transformers. The strike was allegedly carried out using a Grad multiple rocket launcher system.

Mash also shared a video showing thick smoke billowing from the site, though the footage has not been independently verified by Reuters.

Since the onset of full-scale war in February 2022, Ukraine has increasingly targeted Russian industrial sites believed to be contributing to Moscow’s military operations.
