
US Embassy Warns Indians: Overstaying Visa May Lead to These Risks
New Delhi | May 17, 2025 — The United States Embassy in India on Saturday issued a strong warning to Indian nationals, cautioning against overstaying their approved visa durations in the US. The advisory comes amid heightened immigration enforcement under US President Donald Trump’s second term, with new policy changes targeting undocumented and overstayed stays.

According to the embassy’s official post on X (formerly Twitter), violating visa terms by remaining in the US beyond the authorized period may lead to:
“If you remain in the United States beyond your authorized period of stay, you could be deported and could face a permanent ban on traveling to the United States in the future,” read the post.
