Washington DC [US], December 30: US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have expressed their heartfelt condolences following the passing of former US President Jimmy Carter, hailing him as an extraordinary leader, statesman, and humanitarian who dedicated his life to the service of others.
In an official statement released by the White House, the Bidens reflected on Carter’s unwavering commitment to global peace, civil rights, and humanitarian causes.
“With his compassion and moral clarity, he worked to eradicate disease, forge peace, advance civil rights and human rights, promote free and fair elections, house the homeless, and always advocate for the least among us. He saved, lifted, and changed the lives of people all across the globe,” the statement read.
