Trump administration enforces strict immigration rule—anti-Semitic content and support for groups like Hamas or Hezbollah on social media may now cost foreign nationals their US visas or residency.

April 10, 2025: Washington, D.C.:
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has unveiled a new policy that will deny student visas, green cards, and other immigration benefits to individuals whose social media activity includes anti-Semitic content or support for designated terrorist organizations.

The policy, effective immediately, is part of the Biden-to-Trump-era shift in immigration enforcement under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

According to the USCIS, any social media post that endorses or promotes anti-Semitic terrorism or groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, or the Houthis will be treated as a “negative factor” during the evaluation of any immigration benefit request.

“There is no room in the US for the rest of the world’s terrorist sympathizers,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“You are not welcome here.”

🇺🇸 Trump’s Hardline Immigration Push

Since President Donald Trump returned to power in January, his administration has cracked down on foreign students and protestors involved in pro-Palestinian activism.

  • The administration has revoked over 300 visas in recent weeks, according to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
  • Trump has also warned US universities of federal funding cuts over on-campus protests deemed anti-Semitic.

One of the most high-profile cases includes Mahmoud Khalil, a Syrian-Algerian student who led demonstrations at Columbia University. Khalil was deported despite applying for US permanent residency.

“Every time I find one of these lunatics, I take away their visas,” Rubio said.
