
US will now recognise only two genders, Male and Female: Donald Trump
Washington DC [US], January 21: In a bold move immediately following his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump announced a new official policy to recognize only two genders—male and female. The decision forms part of his administration’s broader effort to reshape US government policies on gender, diversity, and inclusion.
Trump also vowed to build a “merit-based” and “colorblind society,” signaling the end of several Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) programs across government and private sectors. Since his election in November, major US corporations, including McDonald’s, Walmart, and Meta, have scaled back their DEI initiatives in anticipation of these policy changes.
President Trump took the oath of office at the US Capitol in Washington, DC, administered by Chief Justice John Roberts. Shortly before, JD Vance was sworn in as the 50th Vice President of the United States.
During his inaugural address, Trump wasted no time in rolling out key campaign promises. Among the first steps:
Trump described the situation at the US-Mexico border as a “disastrous invasion” and committed to reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy, which requires asylum seekers to await processing outside US borders.
“First, I will declare a national emergency at the southern border,” Trump said. “All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to where they came from.”
On domestic energy, Trump announced a “national energy emergency”, reiterating his slogan “drill, baby, drill” to increase domestic oil production.
“The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices. That is why today, I will declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill,” he said.
Referring to recent wildfires in Los Angeles, Trump criticized the lack of adequate response and vowed to prioritize disaster preparedness.
“Fires are raging through houses and communities, even affecting some of the wealthiest and most powerful individuals in our country. They don’t have a home anymore. We cannot let this happen,” he remarked.
Declaring January 21 as “Liberation Day”, Trump said his presidency marked the beginning of America’s “Golden Age”.
“Our journey starts today. Together, we will restore greatness, pride, and prosperity to our country,” he proclaimed.
