Vijender Gupta Criticizes AAP Over Unfulfilled Promises; Arvind Kejriwal Defends Achievements

New Delhi, November 25 – Ahead of the upcoming Delhi elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of failing to deliver on its promises and mismanaging the capital’s governance.

Speaking to reporters, Gupta alleged that AAP legislators have failed to perform their duties and that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is attempting to cover up governance failures by changing party representatives.

“AAP has failed at governing Delhi and has not fulfilled the promises it made to the people. The mismanagement in Delhi and the irregularities in governance prove that AAP legislators have failed in their duties; that’s why Arvind Kejriwal ji is changing them,” Gupta said. He further asserted, “The time has come for this government to go.”

Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for early next year, and the BJP is ramping up its criticism of AAP in preparation.

Countering these claims, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal defended his party’s record, highlighting its welfare schemes and their influence nationwide.

“The AAP government is completing 10 years in Delhi, and the kind of work that happened here is being discussed in every corner of the country. Those parties who used to abuse us for our schemes are using the same schemes to seek votes across the country,” Kejriwal said during a public event in Karala village in the Mundka Assembly constituency.

Key Achievements of the AAP Government

Kejriwal also outlined several initiatives his government has implemented over the past decade:

  • Free electricity and water for poor and middle-class households.
  • Development of world-class schools, leading to the enrollment of over 4 lakh students from private to government schools.
  • Establishment of mohalla clinics, providing accessible healthcare to residents.
  • Free bus rides for women in Delhi.
  • 24-hour electricity supply in the capital, which Kejriwal claimed is unmatched in other cities.

“We have worked for the poor, lower-middle, and middle-class people. Also, we worked on the infrastructural development. We made electricity and water free for the poor and middle class. We made such schools that you won’t find anywhere. Delhi has electricity for 24 hours. There is no other place that has 24 hours of electricity,” Kejriwal emphasized.

Election Context

With elections looming, both the BJP and AAP are stepping up their rhetoric, setting the stage for a heated electoral battle. While BJP criticizes AAP’s governance as failing in delivery, AAP is focusing on showcasing its welfare schemes and infrastructural achievements to appeal to voters.
