Vinod Kambli’s “Brain’s Condition Is Not Stable”, Says Doctor On His Health Condition

December 24, 2024: Vinod Kambli, the former Indian cricketer, is currently receiving medical attention at Aakriti Hospital in Thane due to a range of health issues, including muscle cramps, dizziness, and a high-grade fever. Dr. Vivek Dwivedi, who is treating Kambli, stated that while the cricketer’s vitals are stable, his brain condition is not yet stable and shows signs of degenerative changes, likely linked to a previous stroke. A brain scan also revealed old clots. Kambli’s treatment includes physiotherapy, and he is expected to be discharged within the next 2-3 days, though his recovery is ongoing.

Kambli, 52, was admitted to the hospital after experiencing cramps and difficulty walking at home. Medical tests showed that he also had a urinary infection along with deficiencies in sodium and potassium, which contributed to his muscle cramps. His condition remains serious, but his immediate physical symptoms are improving.

During his hospitalization, Kambli expressed gratitude for the support of his childhood friend, Sachin Tendulkar, who visited him recently. He also mentioned that he remains deeply connected to cricket, reflecting on his memories of past achievements. Both Kambli and Tendulkar were mentored by the legendary coach Ramakant Achrekar, with whom they shared a long cricketing bond.

Kambli is best known for his contributions to Indian cricket, with notable performances in both Test and One-Day International formats. He scored 2,477 runs in ODIs and 1,084 runs in 17 Test matches. His recent health scare has raised concerns, especially after a video surfaced earlier in December showing Kambli looking frail during a meeting with Tendulkar.
