December 19, 2024: Star Indian batter Virat Kohli lost his cool at a female journalist on his arrival at the Melbourne Airport ahead of the fourth Test between Australia and India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. A day after the conclusion of the third Test at Gabba, Brisbane on December 18, Wednesday, Kohli and his family arrived in Melbourne ahead of next week’s Boxing Day Test.
Upon his arrival at Melbourne Airport, Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with a TV journalist. According to a Channel 7 report, Kohli was captured having an intense argument with a female reporter. After the confrontation, Kohli walked off before returning and having a few more words.
According to the report, Kohli was upset by the presence of cameras directed at his family.
Kohli, who is known for aggression on and off the field, has struggled for form in the last four years. However, the Indian superstar broke his 16-month century drought with a superb ton in the first Test in Perth. Courtesy of his century, India registered a commanding 295-run win in the series opener.
Despite opening the series with a big score, Kohli has struggled to carry on his good form in the series. Apart from the century in Perth, Kohli’s other four knocks have yielded just 26 runs.
After losing the opener, Australia bounced back brilliantly in the second Test and thrashed the visitors by 10 wickets.
The third Test at Brisbane was affected by rain across five days and ended in a draw. The stalemate at the Gabba has left the Border-Gavaskar series evenly poised at 1-1 with two Tests to go.
