Virat Kohli Recreates KL Rahul’s ‘Kantara’ Moment After RCB’s Dominant Win Over DC-Watch

Kohli teases Rahul with a playful act after RCB’s six-wicket victory at Arun Jaitley Stadium, reclaiming the top spot in IPL 2025.

April 28, 2025: New Delhi
Virat Kohli added a dose of humor after Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) emphatic six-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) on Sunday by playfully recreating KL Rahul’s now-famous ‘Kantara’ celebration.

Earlier in the season, Rahul had celebrated animatedly after leading DC to victory over RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, mimicking a scene from the popular Kannada movie ‘Kantara’. On Sunday at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, Kohli cheekily teased Rahul by mimicking the same celebration, thumping his chest and gesturing towards the ground — a move that left Rahul smiling.

RCB’s Strong Performance:
Chasing 163 for victory, RCB secured the win with nine balls to spare. Krunal Pandya led the chase with a brilliant unbeaten 73 off 47 balls, while Kohli contributed a steady 51 off 47 deliveries — his sixth half-century of the season — reclaiming the Orange Cap.

DC’s Struggle With the Bat:
For Delhi Capitals, KL Rahul top-scored with 41 off 39 balls, but consistent wickets dented their innings. Tristan Stubbs’ late fireworks (34 off 18) helped DC post a competitive 162/8. However, it wasn’t enough to stop RCB’s momentum.

Bowlers Deliver for RCB:
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/33) and Josh Hazlewood (2/36) starred with the ball, while Krunal Pandya and Yash Dayal picked up a wicket each to restrict Delhi.

Significance:
This crucial win propelled RCB to the top of the IPL 2025 points table, extending their impressive campaign. The match also showcased Kohli’s lighter side, strengthening the camaraderie between two of India’s biggest cricket stars.
