"Virat Kohli Will Score Another 10-15 Centuries"—Navjot Singh Sidhu Predicts a Glorious Run for the Indian Stalwart
New Delhi, February 24: Virat Kohli’s record-breaking century against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has reaffirmed his status as one of the greatest match-winners in cricket history. His unbeaten 100 off 111 balls helped India chase down Pakistan’s total of 241 with ease, marking his sixth century in ICC ODI events and his first in the Champions Trophy.
Hailing Kohli’s unwavering determination and elite mentality, former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu predicted that the Indian batting maestro will play for at least two to three more years and add 10 to 15 more centuries to his illustrious career.
“Character is not made in a crisis, it is exhibited. Virat Kohli is a man with pedigree and passion. After this hundred, I can say with conviction that he will be playing for the next 2-3 years and will score another 10 to 15 centuries. You can take that from me,” Sidhu said on JioCinema.
Sidhu, known for his flamboyant commentary and deep cricketing insights, further described Kohli as a role model for young cricketers and a true inspiration.
“For the game to grow, you need role models who stand above everything. Virat Kohli is a once-in-a-generation cricketer, a ‘Kohinoor’. The value he brings to international cricket is immense. His average of 89.6 in successful chases proves that he thrives under pressure. The tougher the challenge, the more he excels—this is the hallmark of a great cricketer,” he added.
Sidhu also highlighted how Kohli’s signature cover drive is a sign of his best form, much like Sachin Tendulkar’s backfoot punch or Sunil Gavaskar’s straight drive.
“When you assess Kohli, you recognize his signature shot—the cover drive. When he plays it flawlessly with his head on top of the ball, you know he’s back to his best. If you watched the early part of his innings, you would have seen glimpses of the Kohli of old. His resilience, his hunger, and his ability to rise when the chips are down make him one of the greatest cricketers ever,” Sidhu said.
Virat Kohli’s match-winning knock ensured India’s comfortable six-wicket victory over arch-rivals Pakistan.
With this win, India is one step closer to securing a semi-final berth, while Pakistan faces elimination.
