Virginia Giuffre, Epstein and Prince Andrew Accuser, Dies by Suicide at 41

Virginia Giuffre, the woman who accused disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and Britain’s Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, has died by suicide at the age of 41, her family announced on Saturday.
In a statement provided to AFP by her agent, Giuffre’s family shared their heartbreak: “It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia.” They described her as a “lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking” whose suffering had ultimately become unbearable.
Giuffre, a dual citizen of the United States and Australia, accused Epstein of trafficking her as a minor and said she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was just 17 years old, after being introduced to him by Epstein.
Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex crime charges. Prince Andrew denied the allegations but later reached a multimillion-dollar out-of-court settlement with Giuffre, reportedly including donations to charities supporting sex-trafficking victims.
“There are no words that can express the grave loss we feel today with the passing of our sweet Virginia,” her family said. “Her incredible courage and loving spirit will be remembered forever. The toll of abuse became too heavy for her to bear.”
Giuffre leaves behind three children – Christian, Noah, and Emily – described as “the light of her life.”
Recent Health Struggles
Just last month, Giuffre had been hospitalized after a car accident involving a school bus near Perth, Western Australia. She had posted a photo from her hospital bed showing bruises, captioning that she had “four days to live.” Her agent later clarified that Giuffre had not intended for the message to be public and that the crash was considered minor by police.

Sigrid McCawley, Giuffre’s lawyer, mourned her loss, calling her “a dear friend and a fierce champion for other survivors.” New York-based agent Dini von Mueffling also remembered her as “a beacon to survivors – deeply loving, wise, and funny.”
