“We Will Play To Win..”, Says Bangladesh Skipper Najmul Shanto Ahead Of 1st Test Against India

Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed confidence ahead of the first Test match against India in Chennai, set to start on September 19.

He emphasized that his team will focus on their strengths and take things session by session, only worrying about the result during the final stages of the game. Najmul also highlighted the importance of staying focused on their own game plan rather than overanalyzing the opposition.

Bangladesh enters the series with momentum, having just secured a historic 2-0 Test series victory over Pakistan on their soil, marking their first such win in Pakistan.

Najmul acknowledged that while their strong performance in Pakistan boosts their confidence, the team is fully focused on the new challenge in India, striving to maintain their process-oriented approach.

The second Test will take place in Kanpur starting September 27. India, currently leading the World Test Championship standings, will also be eyeing a strong performance in the series.
