Balotra(Rajasthan) [India]: Expressing confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be successful in seizing power from Ashok Gehlot led Congress government in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that seeing the deteriorating law and order in the state, the public is saying that Congress is leaving and BJP is coming.
He was addressing a public meeting at Baytu in Balotra district ahead of the state assembly polls.
PM Modi accused the Congress party over the rising atrocities against women in the state.
“Congress has brought Rajasthan to the forefront in atrocities against women. It is difficult for our mothers and sisters to leave the house, even innocent girls are not safe. Allegations are levelled against relatives of Congress MLAs. Congress MLAs openly make statements against women. When the Chief Minister himself is such that he declares the crimes against women as fake, then the courage of the oppressor increases,” he added.
“Congress made Rajasthan the number one state for crimes against women. It has become difficult for our sisters and daughters to come out of their homes. Congress MLAs openly make statements against women. When the CM himself calls crimes against women fake, criminals’ courage increases..,” he added.
“Whole Rajasthan is saying that Congress is leaving and BJP is coming. Congress will be cleared off right?,” PM Modi said during his address.
He further accused the ruling party of “appeasement” and added that the state needs BJP in order to protect its culture.
“Just think, why does the courage of terrorists, bullies and rioters increase wherever Congress comes? The answer is- Congress’s appeasement policy. Congress is taking Rajasthan in that direction where the culture and tradition of Rajasthan will be in danger. BJP is necessary in the state to protect the culture of Rajasthan,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister added, “This election is not just about making new MLAs and Ministers but this is about bringing law and order back in Rajasthan and bringing BJP back.”
On the occasion of Bhai Dooj, PM Modi also listed out the guarantees for women that will be ensured if the BJP is voted to power.
“The whole country is celebrating the festival of Bhai Dooj today and it is my good fortune that I have come today among my sisters of Rajasthan. You (people) never asked and neither we mentioned in the election manifesto but this brother, this son of yours have decided that I will give free gas connections to every family and will give relief to my mothers and sisters,” PM Modi said during his address.
The Prime Minister also outlined that in the last 10 years, women’s safety and empowerment have been given top priority in the schemes of the Central Government.
He also pointed out the paper leak scam in the state and alleged that the mafia involved in the scam are linked to Congress.
“Congress completely left the youth in the hands of paper leak mafia. It has become almost impossible to have exams in Rajasthan and the paper is not leaked. The links of paper leak mafia are directly connected to Congress leaders,” he said.
“I send money to Jal Jeevan Mission from Delhi, but these Congress people habitually take a commission in that too. Congress people do business of earning money and do corruption even in a noble cause like water,” PM Modi added.
Rajasthan is set to undergo assembly polls on November 25 and counting of votes will be done on December 3.
BJP won 163 seats in the 2013 Legislative Assembly elections and formed the government in Rajasthan.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member House.
