Why RCB Wore Green Jerseys in IPL 2025 Clash vs Rajasthan Royals

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s green kit symbolizes their annual ‘Go Green’ initiative, aimed at raising awareness about environmental conservation and the need to plant more trees.

April 13, 2025: In a special gesture during match 28 of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) donned green jerseys for their clash against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Sunday. The initiative is part of the franchise’s long-running ‘Go Green’ campaign that promotes environmental awareness and encourages fans to plant more trees.

RCB skipper Rajat Patidar, after winning the toss, opted to bowl first and confirmed there were no changes in the playing XI. “We will bowl first. The surface looks hard and good. This green jersey is to raise awareness to plant more trees. Same team for us,” he said at the toss.

Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, made one change to their squad, bringing in Wanindu Hasaranga in place of Fazalhaq Farooqi. “Actually, we also wanted to bowl first. It normally gets better to bat here. Hasaranga replaces Farooqi,” Samson noted.
