Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat And Bajrang Punia Set To Join Congress Party

Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia are scheduled to meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence in Delhi today, followed by their official joining at the Party Headquarters.

Bajrang Punia is likely to be appointed as the co-chairman of the campaign committee for the Haryana Congress in the upcoming assembly polls but will not contest the election himself. Meanwhile, Vinesh Phogat will contest the election, with her seat to be finalized later today.

Prior to this, Vinesh and Bajrang met with Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, to discuss their political aspirations and align with Congress’s strategies for the upcoming elections.

Polling in Haryana is scheduled for October 5, with vote counting on October 8. This election will be crucial for the Congress party as they aim to strengthen their position in the state.
