May 13, 2025: Cricket Australia has officially named a strong 15-member squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against South Africa, scheduled to take place at Lord’s from June 11. The squad also includes players for the subsequent Caribbean Test tour.
The major highlights include the return of Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood, both of whom have overcome injuries that ruled them out of the Sri Lanka tour and the Champions Trophy earlier this year. The duo marked their comeback via the ongoing IPL 2025 season.
Cameron Green also returns to the Test setup after recovering from back surgery. Spin option Matt Kuhnemann and emerging talent Sam Konstas are part of the squad, while Brendan Doggett—Sheffield Shield player of the final—has been named as a travelling reserve.

Selector George Bailey stated, “The team capped the WTC cycle with strong performances against Sri Lanka and India. Reaching the final again is a reflection of the team’s consistency over the past two years.”
Australia aims to become the first nation to win multiple WTC titles, having qualified after winning four of their six series, finishing with a 67.54% points percentage. South Africa, their final opponent, topped the table with a 69.44% points percentage.
