After India’s commanding victory over Bangladesh in the second Test match in Kanpur, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal praised captain Rohit Sharma for his inspirational leadership.
Jaiswal highlighted Rohit’s motivational presence in the dressing room, noting that his approach encourages teammates to excel.
In a video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jaiswal expressed admiration for Rohit, saying, “It’s just incredible. He is one of the best. Seeing him work and how he communicates during huddles and on the field motivates me a lot.” He acknowledged how Rohit’s efforts and demeanor set a high standard for the team.
Reflecting on their strategy, Jaiswal mentioned that the intent to adopt an aggressive approach was clear among the players, especially heading into the fourth day of the match.
He stated, “It was clear in the dressing room that we are going to set a target and play aggressively. Our intent was unbelievable, especially the way Rohit played. It gave me the confidence to start playing my shots and scoring runs, which I really enjoyed.”
India’s seven-wicket win in this Test match secured a 2-0 series victory over Bangladesh, showcasing the team’s aggressive mindset and collective determination to succeed. Jaiswal’s performance, fueled by Rohit’s leadership, played a crucial role in this achievement.
