Actually seeing him, it motivates me a lot to put in the work and do something and make a difference in my habits, which is really important for me. I feel like I will be better day by day.”
Jaiswal’s domestic record is impressive, with 1,407 runs in 14 Tests at an average of 56.28, including three centuries and eight fifties. He has been particularly strong in home conditions, scoring 1,091 runs in 10 matches at an average of 60.61. His highest score of 214* in domestic cricket shows his potential to score big runs, which will be crucial for him as he takes on the Australian challenge.
As India begins its campaign in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Optus Stadium in Perth, Jaiswal’s performance will be under scrutiny.
