Speaking after the match, Jaiswal explained the thought process behind targeting specific bowlers.
“I think I had something in my mind because there were only three overs of Powerplay. So I was planning how I could take down certain overs. When I saw Chahar bhai coming, I thought I could take him on. Then Bumrah bhai came in, so I thought maybe Vaibhav can take him on while I pick someone else. I just kept thinking about who I could go after and what shots I could play.”
Strong Opening Stand With Young Vaibhav
Jaiswal also shared a crucial partnership with teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The duo stitched together a rapid 80-run opening stand in just five overs, laying a solid foundation for Rajasthan Royals’ big total. The rain-affected contest had a revised Powerplay of 3.2 overs, making early aggression even more critical.
Praising his young opening partner, Jaiswal acknowledged Vaibhav’s growing impact.
“The way he has been playing, it’s tremendous. He’s working so hard, so I also get motivated. We keep discussing how we can approach bowlers. If he takes someone on, I keep giving him positive messages to play freely.”
