Yogi Adityanath Welcomes Devotees as Maha Kumbh 2025 Begins with 15 Million Taking Holy Dip

CM praises efforts of administration and volunteers on the first day of Maha Kumbh, marking the Paush Purnima snan with a massive turnout.

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), January 13: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to the millions of devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam on Paush Purnima, the first day of Maha Kumbh 2025. Over 15 million devotees took a holy dip on this auspicious occasion, marking the start of one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings.

“On the first bathing festival today, 1.50 crore Sanatan believers took a holy dip in the pious Triveni and accrued the benefit of ‘punya,'” CM Yogi Adityanath posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Acknowledging Contributors

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the various groups and individuals who contributed to the smooth execution of the first-day festivities.

“Hearty congratulations to all the saints and devotees who took a dip in the Sangam on ‘Paush Purnima’ during the Maha Kumbh festival. A heartfelt thanks to the Maha Kumbh Mela Administration, Prayagraj Administration, UP Police, Municipal Corporation Prayagraj, Swachhagrahis, Ganga Sevadoots, Kumbh Sahayaks, and various socio-religious organizations for their efforts in making this bathing festival a grand success,” he said.

He concluded his message with a spiritual note, “May the good deeds bear fruit. Let us all immerse ourselves in the sanctity of the Maha Kumbh.

A Global Spiritual Event

The Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years, is one of the most significant religious congregations globally. It rotates among four holy locations in India. The Maha Kumbh 2025, also known as the Poorna Kumbh, is being celebrated in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, 2025.

This grand event is expected to attract millions of pilgrims, tourists, and spiritual seekers from across the globe, presenting a unique opportunity to showcase India’s cultural and spiritual heritage alongside its tourism potential.
