Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has lauded young cricketer Arjun Tendulkar for his dedication and relentless approach to training, describing his work ethic as even more intense than his own during his playing days.

Arjun, son of legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, is currently honing his skills with Lucknow Super Giants and has been putting in long hours under the guidance of Yuvraj and his father, Yograj Singh.

‘He Picks Things Up Very Quickly’

Speaking in a recent interview, Yuvraj reflected on his role in mentoring Arjun, calling it a way of giving back to the Tendulkar family, especially since he himself drew inspiration from Sachin during his early years.

“I’ve learned most things from his father—mental, physical, and technical aspects. I’m passing those on to Arjun,” Yuvraj said. “He’s a nice kid, very sharp, and picks things up very easily.”

‘His Commitment Is Fascinating’

Yuvraj didn’t hold back in praising Arjun’s discipline and passion for the game, admitting that the youngster’s work ethic stands out.

“I really wish I could match his level of hard work. He loves the game. His father is probably the best player I’ve seen. It’s fascinating to see Arjun’s commitment,” he added.

Bowling First, Batting Still a Work in Progress

While comparisons with his iconic father are inevitable, Arjun has carved his own identity as a bowler. However, Yograj Singh believes the youngster should not be judged solely on his bowling, insisting he has strong batting abilities as well.

Yuvraj, however, offered a more measured perspective. “When Arjun started, he was definitely a better bowler. He’s still learning as a batter, and if he keeps working, he will improve,” he explained.

Drawing a parallel with his own career, Yuvraj added, “For now, he’s a bowler who can bat—just like I was a batter who could bowl.”

A Promising Road Ahead

With continued mentorship and exposure at the highest level, Arjun’s development remains one to watch. Backed by guidance from experienced figures like Yuvraj and Yograj, and inspired by the legacy of Sachin Tendulkar, the young cricketer appears well on track to shape his own journey in the sport.
