In a heart-stopping moment aboard the Disney Dream cruise ship, a father leapt overboard to save his daughter after she fell from the fourth deck into the ocean. The incident occurred on June 29 during the final leg of a four-night Bahamian cruise to Fort Lauderdale.

The ship immediately issued the emergency alert “Mr. M.O.B.” (Man Overboard), prompting a swift and coordinated rescue response from the Disney crew.

According to eyewitness accounts shared on social media, the father jumped into the water without hesitation and kept his daughter afloat for nearly 20 minutes until the ship’s rescue team reached them.

“That man is a hero. He jumped in to save his child. He’s a hero,” said passenger Tracy Robinson-Hughes, who witnessed the moment from the deck.
Disney confirmed the successful rescue and praised the ship’s crew in a statement to CNN:
“We commend our Crew Members for their exceptional skills and prompt actions… This incident highlights the effectiveness of our safety protocols.”
Fellow passengers flooded Facebook groups with support, calling the father a “real-life superhero.”
One guest, Kevin Furuta, posted:
“A girl fell overboard from the 4th deck & her dad went in after her… MOB Port side was called out loud. Thankfully both were saved.”
Despite the potential for tragedy, the quick actions of the father and the ship’s crew turned the incident into a story of courage and relief.
The Disney Dream has since resumed its course toward Port Everglades, Florida, with all passengers safe.
