While some users slammed the behaviour as “cringe” and “embarrassing,” others defended the tourists, urging critics to “let people enjoy.”

The viral video, now crossing 549,000 views on X, captures Indian tourists enthusiastically dancing to loud music in a public area of the zoo, with mostly Indian onlookers in the audience and a few visibly surprised international spectators in the background.

The video’s on-screen caption reads: “When you visit Thailand to see Thai people but… Indians everywhere,” hinting at the growing Indian tourist footprint in Southeast Asia. It was shared by user @baldwhiner, who posted:

“Dear desi tourists abroad, WE BEG YOU… if you weren’t a singer, dancer, or comic back home, this isn’t the time to start. Don’t make the planet suffer 2nd-hand embarrassment on our behalf.”

The comment section erupted with criticism, with many Indians expressing discomfort with what they perceived as “loud and intrusive behaviour” abroad.

“Embarrassing. I wouldn’t mind if they had rhythm… but those pot-bellied dancers must be banned,” wrote one user.

Another warned, “At this rate, even other developing countries will stop offering visa-on-arrival to Indians.”

A third user linked the moment to cultural decline: “This is what happens when mediocrity is celebrated back home. No one dares to say it’s cringe anymore.”
