Fire News: Oakland Warehouse Fire Spreads To 2nd Building, Burns Multiple Vehicles
July 5, 2025: Fire news -A large warehouse fire broke out Friday near the railroad tracks on E. 8th Avenue in Tampa, causing extensive damage to a facility registered to H&Q Furniture LLC. The intense blaze rapidly spread to an adjacent building and engulfed at least two recreational vehicles (RVs) parked on the street outside.
Fire crews rushed to the scene at 5309 E. 8th Avenue, where thick smoke and flames could be seen for miles. Emergency responders worked through the afternoon to contain the fire, which had already consumed the furniture warehouse and was threatening nearby structures.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials have not yet confirmed any injuries. Witnesses reported hearing loud pops and seeing explosions, likely from materials stored inside the warehouse or the parked RVs.
Tampa Fire Rescue has urged residents to avoid the area due to ongoing operations and potential air quality concerns from the smoke. Crews are currently working to assess the full extent of the damage.
The warehouse, situated adjacent to the railroad tracks, is believed to have been used for furniture storage and distribution. H&Q Furniture LLC has not yet issued a public statement.
This incident raises concerns over fire safety in industrial zones, particularly where heavy materials and flammable goods are stored. Authorities are expected to provide more details in the coming hours.
