February 23, 2025: Singer Kailash Kher and BJP leader Sambit Patra took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj during the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela on Sunday morning, an event that is one of the largest and most sacred gatherings in the world. Kailash Kher called it a “proud moment” for India, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to experience the spiritual journey at the Mahakumbh.
Kailash shared his thoughts on the spiritual atmosphere, mentioning that saints from all over the world had gathered for the occasion, each continuing their journey of spirituality with smiles. The singer acknowledged the significance of the event, highlighting the immense cultural importance it holds for the nation.
On the same day, film producer Boney Kapoor also visited the Mahakumbh Mela to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. Reflecting on his previous visits to Prayagraj, Kapoor shared his awe at the massive crowd and spiritual energy, noting the unique and overwhelming experience of witnessing such a gathering. He also recalled a personal memory of bringing his grandfather’s ashes to the location.
As of Sunday, the Uttar Pradesh government reported that over 607.4 million devotees had visited the Mahakumbh, with nearly 8.77 million taking the holy dip by 2 p.m. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that a total of 620 million devotees were expected to visit the Mela, which will continue until February 26, coinciding with Maha Shivratri.
The authorities have implemented extensive crowd control measures, especially at Ayodhya Dham Railway Station, ensuring smooth management and safety for the large number of devotees attending the spiritual event.
