The Emmy-winning journalist, 55, was walked down the aisle by her sons, Nikko and Evan, while her 17-year-old daughter Ella served as her maid of honor during the lavish black-tie ceremony in Venice, Italy, on Friday, June 27.
Held on the picturesque island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the ceremony marked the official union of Sánchez and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 61. According to Vogue, Sánchez’s daughter Ella not only stood by her mother’s side but also delivered a heartfelt reading at the altar. She wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit, perfectly complementing her mother’s custom-made mermaid-style wedding gown by Dolce, complete with hand-appliquéd Italian lace and Dolce earrings.
“Ella’s original; she beats to her own drum,” Sánchez told Vogue, adding, “She had never had a fitting before, and she loved it. She’s going to look amazing. It has been the most fun dressing all the kids.”
Sánchez’s sons — Nikko, 24, whom she shares with ex-NFL star Tony Gonzalez, and Evan, 19, her son with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell, escorted her to the altar, making it a meaningful family procession.
