June 29, 2025: Minnesota Tornado Warnings– Severe storms swept through Minnesota on the night of June 28 and the early morning of June 29, 2025, bringing heavy rain, damaging winds, and multiple tornadoes. The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed five tornadoes in Carver County, including areas such as Victoria, Waconia, Cologne, and St. Bonifacius. Additionally, two tornadoes were observed near Canby in western Minnesota on Saturday evening.

In Carver County, an EF-1 tornado with wind speeds reaching 105 mph caused significant damage near Watertown. The tornado lasted for two to three minutes and was strong enough to flip cars and damage buildings. The NWS reported that the most damage occurred as the tornado crossed Vega Avenue, where numerous trees were snapped and some minor structural damage was found.

The NWS is conducting damage assessments to confirm the total number of tornadoes and determine the extent of the damage. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay informed through local weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
