Trump Lashes Out at Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift in Social Media Tirade
Washington, D.C. | May 17, 2025:
U.S. President Donald Trump stirred controversy on Friday with a series of personal attacks aimed at music legends Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift, using his social media platform Truth Social to air grievances during his return from a diplomatic tour of the Middle East.
In a scathing post, Trump slammed Springsteen—who recently criticized the U.S. administration during a concert in Manchester—as a “highly overrated” musician and an “obnoxious jerk.” Springsteen had told his audience that America was being run by a “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” urging fans to raise their voices “against authoritarianism.”

Trump, 78, responded by mocking the 74-year-old rocker’s appearance and political views.
“Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics… He’s not a talented guy—just a pushy, obnoxious JERK,” Trump wrote.
“This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker… ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country.”
Springsteen has long been a vocal critic of Trump and supported Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 election and Kamala Harris in 2024.
Trump didn’t stop there. In a separate post, he took a swipe at pop superstar Taylor Swift, saying:
“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT’?”
This appears to reference a September 2024 post in which Trump declared his dislike for Swift, who has also endorsed Democratic candidates and has been increasingly vocal in U.S. politics.
At 35, Swift remains a major global icon in entertainment, with a reported net worth of $1.6 billion, 14 Grammy Awards, and one of the most successful global music tours of all time.
