U.S. Woman Seeks ChatGPT's Help to Pay-off Debt! Here's What Happened Next
Delaware | June 30, 2025 —
Jennifer Allan, a realtor and content creator from Delaware, found herself deep in credit card debt—$23,000, to be exact. After struggling for years with poor financial habits, she turned to an unlikely source for help: ChatGPT, the AI chatbot.
“I’ve struggled with money my whole adult life,” Jennifer told Newsweek. “Not because I didn’t make enough, but because I avoided budgeting. I figured I could just work harder to out-earn my problems.”
But after becoming a mother, the bills caught up with her. Postpartum expenses and childcare added pressure, and she relied heavily on credit cards just to keep her family afloat.

That’s when she launched a 30-day challenge—asking ChatGPT daily for help in saving money, earning extra income, and tracking progress. The chatbot suggested practical steps like canceling unused subscriptions, selling old items, and finding side hustles on Facebook Marketplace.
By the end of the challenge, Jennifer had paid off $12,078.93—over half her debt.

“It wasn’t some magic financial hack,” she said. “It was the act of facing it daily—tracking it, talking about it, building a debt tracker, and removing shame from the process.”
Jennifer shared her progress on TikTok (@_jenn.allan), inspiring others to use AI tools not just for curiosity, but for real-life problem solving.
