Trevor Noah wins Outstanding Talk Series award for ‘Daily Show’: 75th Emmys

For the first time ever, comedian Trevor Noah’s “Daily Show” on Comedy Central took home the Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series. Television Academy broke the news on X (previously Twitter) with the description, “@TheDailyShowwith @TrevorNoah(@ComedyCentral) wins the #Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series on a fantastic evening! This is the first victory in this category for the show! #Emmys #75thEmmys.”

Trevor Noah concluded his last season hosting “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah” on Comedy Central. With a desire to travel and tour more, the comedian, who had been hosting the show since 2015, resigned from his position as anchor at the end of 2022. 1996 saw the launch of “The Daily Show,” which was hosted by Craig Kilborn. From 1999 until 2015, when he turned the reins up to Noah, Jon Stewart was in charge. As he said goodbye to “The Daily Show” in 2022, he reflected on how popular the program had been all around the world, especially in India.

“What an adventure it has been… The program has expanded globally. When I just made my first trip to India, the folks there were highly supportive of all we had done with the show. I discovered that I was incredibly grateful for the experience. It’s been very incredible. It’s not what I was expecting,” he’d remarked. The Peacock Theater in Los Angeles is the current venue for the Emmy award ceremony. The Hollywood strikes caused the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, which were originally set for September 2023, to be rescheduled.
