As they have done for 157 years, Arsenal will break their custom by wearing an all-white jersey instead of their usual red one for their FA Cup game against Liverpool at home. As part of their “No More Red” program, Arsenal will break the rule on Sunday. At Meadow Park on January 14, the women’s team will play their first game in the all-white kit, along with the men’s team. The game is in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
No More Red began in January 2022 as a way to support Arsenal’s long-term work to keep young people safe from knife crime and other forms of youth violence. Arsenal will wear the “No More Red” kit for the third season in a row. According to the club’s website, Freddie Hudson, Head of Arsenal in the Community, said, “No More Red gives us a unique chance to highlight almost four decades of our local community work that has helped keep thousands of young people safe.”
“Young people face multiple challenges as they grow up in today’s world and we don’t have all the answers, but we are confident that by acting together and shining a light on the support network available across our community, we can make a significant contribution to the lives of our participants,”
Hudson also said. Chris Walsh, Vice President of Brand Northern Europe at Adidas, said, “Since we launched No More Red in 2022, we have been overwhelmed by the number of fans who want to help.” “Whilst the No More Red shirt will never be commercially available, the introduction of the No More Red community t-shirt will give supporters an opportunity to show their support and a way of making a direct impact,” said Walsh. One of the 2023 No More Red Social Action Projects was done by Nellie-Rose, who made the No More Red community t-shirt.
“No More Red is all about community, so it was important to me that this came through in my design.” Nellie said, “I’m proud that my work was chosen to represent the campaign and give people in the community another way to support and feel connected to the effort.”
