English wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings expressed his views on the upcoming Test series between India and England, highlighting the formidable challenge posed by Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Billings also mentioned that English batter Ben Duckett, known for his proficiency against spin, could have a successful tour.
In an exclusive interview during the IPL T20 in Dubai, Billings praised Ashwin and Jadeja for their bowling skills and acknowledged that playing in India presents unique challenges, especially when facing spinners. He believes that the series will be an exciting one for cricket fans worldwide.
When asked about “Bazball,” referring to England’s positive approach, Billings expressed hope that it would work despite the challenges. He emphasized that England’s approach needed to be positive, as the previous approach did not yield favorable results.
Billings concluded by stating that although there would be difficult moments in the series, England’s positive approach aimed to put India under pressure.
The five-match Test series between India and England commences on January 25 in Hyderabad, with subsequent matches scheduled in Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala.
The England Test squad for the India series includes Ben Stokes as captain, along with notable players like James Anderson, Joe Root, and others.
