Aus vs Pak: Highlights 3rd Test Day 2, Rain forces early stumps

The last session of Day 2 of the third Test in the three-match series between Pakistan and Australia was cut short by rain and bad light at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday. Because of the rain, Stumps was called early on Day 2 after only 46 overs had been played. Australia was behind by 197 runs at the time of Stumps, with Marnus Labuschagne (23) and Steve Smith (6) still not out at the wicket.

Pakistan bowled mostly steadily, so Australia’s response was slow but steady. They added only 110 runs to the overnight lead, even though they lost both of their openers. Australia was at 116/2 when Aamer Jamal got rid of Usman Khawaja just before the end of the second session. Soon after, it started to rain, which made it less likely that the last class would start on time. At the start of the second session, Australia was at 78/1, and Usman Khawaja (35) and Marnus Labuschagne (3) were both still unbeaten. Khawaja and Labuschagne mostly depended on switching who struck and didn’t take any chances against

Bowlers from Pakistan. In 38.4 overs, Australia scored 100 runs. While Khawaja looked like he was about to reach fifty, Mohammed Rizwan got him behind and Aamer Jaamal took the wicket. Khawaja’s 143-ball, 47-run knock was over. It was 108/2 for Australia. Australia was led by Steve Smith and Labuschagne for the rest of the session, which finished early because of bad light.

Earlier in the first session, David Warner and Khawaja put together an opening stand of 78 runs. Warner was playing his last Test match. Warner was out after 68 balls and four fours. He was out for 34. Short Scores: Australia is 197 runs behind Pakistan, which is 313 runs ahead of them with Usman Khawaja 47, David Warner 34, and Agha Salman 1/18. Mohammed Rizwan with 88, Aamer Jamal with 82, and Pat Cummins with 5/61.
