When the Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team plays the Netherlands in the second Quarter-Final on Tuesday, they hope to secure a spot in the Semi-Finals of the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Malaysia 2023.
The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team defeated Canada 10-1 in their third and final Pool C game, so they will go into the Quarterfinals with a lot of confidence. India had defeated Korea 4-2 earlier in the tournament, but they fell to Spain 1-4 in their second match. India will play the Netherlands, the top-seeded team in Pool D, after finishing second in Pool C with six points.
Uttam Singh, the captain of the Indian junior men’s team, stated, “We have performed well in the World Cup of hockey. We certainly feel more confident going into the knockout stages after our impressive 10-1 victory. Like we always do, we’ll try to put in our best effort and play to the best of our abilities.”
“The players are in a good space and are ready to take on whatever is thrown at them,” stated Coach C R Kumar in the interim. We’ll keep approaching this competition one match at a time. Although the Quarterfinal is a significant game, the boys are ready for it.” On Tuesday at 8:45 IST, India will play the Netherlands in the quarterfinals. The tournament’s Semi-Finals and Final are scheduled for December 14 and December 16, respectively.
