Hockey India Junior and Sub Junior Men Academy Championship sees high-scoring clashes: Day 2

On Day 2 of the First Hockey India Junior and Sub Junior Men Academy Championship 2023 – (Zone A), Army Boys Sports Academy, HAR Hockey Academy, and Round glass Punjab Hockey Club Academy triumphed in their respective matches in the Junior category, while Ghumanhera Riser’s Academy and HAR Hockey Academy won their matches in the Sub Junior category. In the junior category, Markandeshwar Hockey Academy defeated Raja Karan Hockey Academy 1-1.

Raja Karan Hockey Academy was defeated 8-2 by HAR Hockey Academy in the Sub Junior category opening match. With five goals, Captain Sachin (7′, 10′, 33′, 46′, and 48′) led the HAR Hockey Academy in scoring. Goyat Sourabh (5′, 25′) added a brace, and Pankaj (58′) added a goal as the game came to a close. The two goals for Raja Karan Hockey Academy were scored by Rudraksh (22′) and Hargun Singh (42′).

Salute Hockey Academy was defeated 25-0 by Ghumanhera Riser’s Academy in the Sub Junior Category’s second match. Phalaswal Pratik (10′), Kapil (21′), and Jatin (28′) each scored a goal for Ghumanhera Riser’s Academy, while Yuvraj Singh (6′, 17′, 20′, 34′, 36, 48′), Kunal (22′, 28′, 32′, 50′, 60′), and Tashu (30′, 55′, 56′, 57′, 60′) scored 16 goals between them. Nishant (2′, 28′), Kataria Hitesh (5′, 59′), and Pryash (11′, 52′) scored braces.
Army Boys Sports Academy defeated Salute Hockey Academy 8-0 in the Junior Category opener. For Army Boys Sports Academy, Manjeet (2′, 31′), Nitesh Sharma (28′, 45′), and Chhitij Bara (35′, 41′) scored braces, while Captain Harpal (19′) and Arjun (40′) each scored a goal without giving up a goal.

HAR Hockey Academy defeated Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy Bhagta 6-0 in the Junior Category’s second match. Sandeep Singh (7′, 58′) scored two goals, while HAR Hockey Academy won the match without giving up a goal. Nitin (15′), Deepak (26′), Kuldeep (37′), and Ravinder (51′) each scored one goal.
Markandeshwar Hockey Academy and Raja Karan Hockey Academy drew in their third Junior Category match, with a final score of 1-1. Raja Karan Hockey Academy’s Harish Sharma (19′) scored a field goal in the second quarter, but Manjot Singh’s (58′) late goal for Markandeshwar Hockey Academy to tie the score in the fourth quarter meant a draw.

Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy defeated Cheema Hockey Academy 16-0 in the Junior Category’s fourth game. To lead Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy to a comfortable victory, Lovenoor Singh (7′, 25′, 33′) and Captain Gursewak Singh (28′, 40′, 54′) each scored hat-tricks; Japnit Singh (6′, 45′), Jarman Singh (14′, 60′), and Prince Kumar (18′, 27′) scored braces; and Ashwani (35′), Suraj (38′), Joban Singh (47′), and Om Rajnesh Saini (59′) each scored a goal.
