In an exciting match, they defeated Pakistan 2-1 to demonstrate their superiority. With eight goals, Araijeet Singh Hundal became India’s top scorer and made a major contribution. The team’s winning run in the group stages—especially against Pakistan—set the stage for their eventual victory. They won the Men’s Junior Asia Cup four times, breaking Pakistan’s record in the process, and became the most successful team in the competition’s history.

At the Sultan of Johor Cup 2023, the Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team won their second medal of the year. The team’s journey in the Sultan of Johor Cup 2023, which was held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia from October 27 to November 4, had its high points and low points. The team showed resiliency after faltering against Germany in the Semi-Final, winning a thrilling shootout against Pakistan to take home the Bronze medal—a testament to their character under duress.
The FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2023 was the Indian team’s third major tournament of the year. It was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from December 5 to December 16. The team’s World Cup campaign proved to be a bittersweet experience as they lost to Germany in the Semi-Final after an impressive group stage performance and an exciting Quarter-Final victory over the Netherlands. Furthermore, the Indian Team finished fourth in the tournament for the second time in a row after losing to Spain in the battle for the bronze.
